Most of my new craft projects are started as gifts, so when a friend asks me if I can make something, I put my best effort into making whatever it is. Recently, a friend of mine told me that her daughter loves ducks and polar bears, so I tried my gosh-darned hardest to make a decent-looking duck and polar bear.

May I present you with, drumroll please, my very first duck!

In case you haven’t noticed, my crocheted animals are round. Round is what I do. So, this duck is pretty much a ball.

Round duck.

The polar bear is well under way. It kind of looks like a white Whack-A-Mole right now because I haven’t attached the limbs or finished the bottom yet, but soon it will be a polar bear ball.

So what do you think? Is this duck worthy of a spot in the Etsy shop? Is my friend’s daughter going to look at this and think I’m insane?
